Air Stick: Produces super-efficient water aeration
The Water Maze AirStick uses patented technology to produce super-efficient aeration
of water thus creating an extraordinarily oxygen-rich environment for fast and
super-effective bio-treatment of wastewater.
Such efficiency is measured in terms of OTP—Oxygen Transfer Potential. The OTP is
influenced by the surface area and buoyancy of the bubbles when air is injected into
wastewater.
Most aeration equipment today injects compressed air into wastewater to create a stream
of bubbles, similar to aerators found in a home fish tank. The bubbles typically are
20mm in size or larger and rush quickly to the surface.
Other aerators use fine-pore diffusers producing air bubbles between 2 and 4mm.
The Water Maze AirStick uses Vacuum Bubble® Technology to create air bubbles only
0.25mm in size and, because they’re created in a partial vacuum, their buoyancy is
such that the bubbles remain suspended in the water for an extended time enhancing
the transfer of oxygen to the water.
The millions of .25mm-size bubbles also create a surface area 12 times greater than
the 3mm bubble and 80 times more than the 20mm bubbles. Furthermore, the buoyancy force
of the AirStick bubbles is so small that it is less than the surrounding surface tension
of the water, creating the most efficient Oxygen Transfer Potential of any aeration
system on the market.
The ultimate benefit of this super-efficient OTP is that it creates an extraordinarily
robust environment for aggressive aerobic activity so that microbes will naturally and
quickly consume oils, hydrocarbons, and other biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) in a waste
stream, tank, pond or even a lagoon.
